About the Owners
Our Story
Swanage Caravan is privately owned and managed by Roger and Romilly, who share a long-standing appreciation for Swanage and the Dorset coastline.
We have a son, Zane and our dog Millie, a Cavapoo who is very much part of family life. As a family, we love spending time on the Dorset coast - enjoying long coastal walks, exploring the local area and making the most of the space, scenery and slower pace that Swanage offers. That love of the area is a big part of why we wanted to create a place others could enjoy too.
This caravan is a personal project for us both. It has been created as a calm, comfortable place to relax, with a strong focus on thoughtful presentation, clear communication and a well-managed guest experience. We look after the property ourselves and take pride in offering a straightforward and transparent way to book and stay.
Alongside running the caravan, we also work together professionally within the education sector.
Roger has worked in and around education since 2009, beginning his career supporting effective school governance before moving into education recruitment in 2015. His work is shaped by a deep understanding of schools, people and leadership, alongside a strong belief in doing things properly and with integrity. Roger previously served as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer in the British Army, an experience that continues to influence his calm, structured and dependable approach. He also serves as a Non-Executive Director and Chair of Trustees for a multi-academy trust, helping to uphold high standards of governance and accountability.
Romilly brings a complementary skill set, with a background in recruitment leadership, consultancy and business growth. She is an award-winning Recruitment Director, investor and executive business coach and currently co-chairs the APSCo Marketing Forum. Romilly is known for her practical, energetic approach to leadership and her ability to motivate and support people to achieve their potential. Earlier in her career, she also competed as a Formula Woman racing driver - an experience that reflects her appetite for challenge, focus and resilience.
Together, we are the founders of educationRnR, a UK-based consultancy supporting schools, multi-academy trusts and organisations with recruitment, governance and strategic advice. We are also involved in ChatEd and educationDIRECT, which provide insight, discussion and practical support across the education sector.
Swanage Caravan is managed entirely separately from our professional work. However, the same values that underpin our consultancy (organisation, clarity, reliability and attention to detail) are reflected in how the caravan is run. Our aim is simply to offer a well-looked-after place to stay, where guests can book with confidence and enjoy their time in Swanage, whether that’s relaxing by the sea, walking the coast or exploring Dorset with family (and dogs) in tow.
